PRINCIPAL’S CORNER
What a wonderful first few weeks. We have been really lucky with the weather and hope that trend continues. But if the trees are an indication, we know change is around the corner. Thank you for sending your children in with layers and ready to adapt to whatever the weather throws at us.
Safety Drill - Next week we will be holding another of our regular safety drills. On Thursday, October 8th, we will conduct an announced lockdown drill with support from the State and Local Police. Students will be prepared in advance, with clear explanations of when and how the drill will take place. These drills are simply practice, for both staff and students and our goal is always to help children feel as safe and comfortable as possible throughout the process. We encourage you to talk with your child beforehand if you’d like, and please don’t hesitate to reach out to their teacher or to me with any questions or concerns.
Community Lunch - our next one is Wednesday, October 21st. Please join us for Meatloaf Dinner, Mashed potatoes, gravy, etc. If you plan to join us, please call or email Laurie by the day before.
Adventure Day is on 10/23! This will be a day of activities over at Pelham Lake Park for the entire school. Some students will hike to the top of the mountain, while others will participate in shorter activities like fairy house or boat building, fort building, scavenger hunts, a hike around the lake or other fun learning activities. There will be some all school activities to begin and end the day celebrating the community being built here at Rowe School.
Special Education Coffee Chat: On 10/6/26, Tara Barnes, Assistant Superintendent of Student Services will be here from 7:45-9:00 and will be available just to answer any questions parents may have. Please feel free to stop in and chat with her.
Summer Programming Survey - Rowe School is exploring options for summer programming for children in our community. We would like to better understand families’ interest, scheduling needs, and the types of activities or programming that would be most useful. Please complete this SURVEY to provide feedback.
Finally, thank you again to all families for getting you child/children here to school so that we are all able to start the day promptly at 8:25. What a wonderful feeling it is to see all the smiling faces together every morning as we start the day together!
Enjoy the weekend!
